The analyses and proposals generated will be incorporated alongside others gathered by the laboratory itself, in order to respond to the area’s challenges and development opportunities, and to build a predictive model capable of evaluating different local development scenarios.

“Supporting future professionals to be part of major projects is a benefit not only for the laboratory, but for the entire region. Their participation in local initiatives allows them to envision a career here rather than moving to other cities when they finish their studies, keeping young talent in Biobío,” said Marcela Martínez, director of City Lab Biobío.

The collaborative work between both institutions also includes the planning of workshops and other initiatives to allow undergraduate students to be part of the first city laboratory in Latin America developed in partnership with MIT.
