The event, organised by the Regional Business Administration Institute (IRADE) at the Hotel Diego de Almagro, brought together three local projects generating a positive impact in the region: City Lab, El Distrito de Innovación Región and Suma Talento.
Alongside explaining the project’s objective of guiding urban decision-making in the region, City Lab director Marcela Martínez outlined some of the initiative’s advances, the selection of the first area where modelling work will take place, and the next steps ahead.
“The work we do at City Lab cannot run parallel to the community. That is why these opportunities to share our progress and gather people’s concerns are essential to achieving our objective,” added the City Lab Biobío director.
Also presenting at the event was Pablo Catalán, dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad de Concepción, who spoke about the Innovation District and its goal of fostering entrepreneurship and new ideas in the region. From IRADE, general manager Carolina Parada also addressed SUMA Talento and how it seeks to encourage innovation among young people in the region.
