As part of a session of the commission responsible for overseeing the development of regional science, City Lab Biobío presented its main advances in programme delivery, ongoing research, outreach activities and work associated with the project’s various components.

ed by Martín Andrade, executive director of Corporación Ciudades, the management team briefed the regional councillors present on the state of the laboratory’s implementation, the development of the CityScope platform, and ongoing studies and collaborations with the Municipality of San Pedro de la Paz and Puertos de Talcahuano.

To round out the briefing, councillors were also updated on activities related to the communications, outreach, development and administrative components of the project.

Regional councillor Ana Araneda, who chairs the commission, said: “We came with the commission to learn about City Lab’s lines of work and how CityScope was built. This visit is key to giving the laboratory a purpose and a role in public policy — to guide urban interventions and to establish this centre as a relevant player within the sciences and research community in the Biobío region.”
